Brown Water Marine Service

Brown Water Marine Service, Inc. was founded in 1989 by Hugh (Tim) Chapman, and is still family owned and operated. We currently own and operate 21 boats and 32 barges. With this equipment we provide a wide variety of marine transportation services through out the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana.

We are a member of the American Waterways Operators and remain certified by the Responsible Carrier Program. We provide reliable and safe services to our customers with the help of our experienced and dedicated employees.

Our office and repair facilities are located in Rockport, Texas at mile 525 on the Gulf Intercoastal Water Way. We have our own in house mechanic’s shop and employ five full time mechanics. We also own and operate a full service ship yard, Mile 533 Marine Ways, Inc. This centralization of our repair and maintenance facilities allows us to minimize down time for maintenance and repairs.

Due to an increase in customer demand Brown Water Marine Service is proud to announce the construction of nine new inland deck barges. All of these barges have been delivered in the last 18 months. Eight of these barges will all be equipped with pipe stanchions and pollution rails and are 120’ x 30’ x 7’ in size. One of these new barges is 120' x 50' x 7', and is perfect or putting lots of equipment on the deck for a frac job. The construction of these new barges brings our inland barge fleet to a total of 32.
